As you leave the hotel, head up rue Pierre Fontaine towards place Blanche. In front of you stands the Moulin Rouge, the city's most famous music hall. Next, explore rue Lepic and its Café des Deux Moulins, which was the setting for the film, Amélie.
Then continue along rue des Abbesses and turn right. Boutiques, cafés and little shops remind you that Montmartre is a thriving local community. Take rue Yvonne Le Tac to reach Sacré-Cœur, so symbolic of the neighbourhood.

Next, head to the famous place du Tertre where artists sketch the portraits of passers-by. Continue onto Clos Montmartre and its vineyards, because yes, Paris does indeed produce wine. Go back down via rue Caulaincourt to reach the Montmartre cemetery. Here, you'll see some famous tombs.
